This chili recipe is sweet and spicy! It is actually is a combination of my mom and stepmom’s separate chili recipes and I combined it many years ago.
When I was a kid, my mom had tried this chili recipe that called for beer, but the night she made it, she actually grabbed root beer and hadn’t noticed. The result is something perfectly sweet and just enough kick from the spices. Now, this is my own recipe with a little more kick to it but just as sweet. I often make it in the crockpot but I sometimes use the stovetop if I don’t want to wait all day- or the ground beef wasn’t defrosted in the morning.
