As I wrote in a previous post about my Green Smoothie recipe, there can be a lot of nutritional value to your smoothies. You don’t always have to go with the sweetest ingredients. But here is a quick list of things you might want to add to your next smoothie- fresh or frozen.
|Bananas||Protein powder or shake|
|Berries- I like Costco’s Triple Berry Blend||Coconut water|
|Watermelon||Regular yogurt or favorite yogurt|
|Peaches||Ice (but I don’t typically use ice)|

Combine protein shake with Greek yogurt and whatever fresh berries you have in the fridge!
- 1/4 cup blackberries

Green Smoothie with Spinach and Avocado
Sounds like it might be gross with the smoothie and strange bitter flavor that sometimes accompanies an avocado- but bananas are a great sweetener and mellows it out.
- 1 cup frozen spinach
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup yogurt
- 1 banana
- Frozen berries or ice
- 1/2 avocado
