A Keto Dessert is a challenge for anyone on a low carb diet– but they are also an opportunity to get creative while enjoying your sweets and satisfying that chocolate craving. A lot of the time, when we crave something sweet, our bodies are usually telling us that they need something specific that doesn’t always align with what we think we need/want in the moment. For instance, when you’re craving chocolate, bread or fried foods, your body really needs magnesium, nitrogen, or calcium (respectively). For those needs, you can usually satisfy your craving with something like nuts, seeds, fruits and veggies; or high protein foods: meat, salmon, and chia seeds. If you’re craving fried/oily foods, drink organic milk, leafy greens or vegetables.
Sometimes though, the gnawing chocolate craving still won’t go away and then it’s time to make an interesting combo and come up with a fat-filled, protein packed alternative: a keto dessert!
