A low carb meal plan might sound expensive when you factor in ingredients like almond flour, coconut oil, meat, etc. but it is totally reasonable to do a low carb diet on a budget. Here’s your Low Carb Meal Plan for one week and $20-25!
Crash Course for Meal Planning
Initially, it takes quite a lot of work to begin starting a meal plan. That starts with understanding, or knowing, the different prices between stores- or at least knowing price ranges for items like milk, produce, breads, meats. Meats tend to be the most expensive, breads are sometimes most cost effective if purchased at stores like Costco. I buy my produce from the local grocery store and buy staples plus in-season produce, and I only buy what is on the meal plan, plus snacks, plus extras for breakfast.

Low Carb Meal Plan

Monday- Cream of Broccoli soup
- Crown of broccoli $0.81
- 2 cups Milk
- Total 6 TBS of Butter
- Cheese
- Salt & Pepper
- 2 cups Broth $2.69/box = $1.35
- Homemade French Bread dinner rolls way less than $1
Less than $5 for 3 servings

Tuesday– Turkey & Rice Bowl
I opted for a bowl of whole grains mix, fresh diced bell peppers, turkey meat and petite diced tomatoes. A total experiment because it took too long for hubby to get hungry that evening. He later ate turkey taco, I think. I cooked the full 1 pound of ground turkey and put the rest in a tupperware.
- 1 red bell pepper $1.38
- 1 lbs Ground turkey $1.58
- Salt and pepper and Taco seasoning packet $0.50
- Mexican Blend Cheese (sprinkled)
- Whole Grain Blend (ate 1/2) $1.20
Estimated Total Cost for the Meal: $4

Wednesday– Pork Loin & Fixings
- Pork Loin section est $1.89
- Breadcrumbs
- Carrots *6 sticks from 5 lb bag.
- Lemon juice
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 small onion
- Breadcrumbs, carrots, onion, and garlic barely cost $1 combined
Less than $5 total

Thursday- Beef Stew
- Beef Stew meat $6.35
- Frozen Peas $0.35 (half a bag)
- 3 Carrots
- 1/2 bag of gold potatoes
- 2 TBS from can of tomato paste
- The remaining amount of petite diced tomatoes from Tuesday night
- Beef Bone (to replace broth)
- Chicken Broth 3 cups
- 1 onion
- Seasoning: Italian Seasoning, salt, pepper, Basil, 3 Bay Leaves
- 1/4 cup flour
- Bread Rolls: Less than $1
Estimated Cost of this batch is likely $10 and created 6 servings (less than $2/serving!)
Friday- Keto Bacon & Sausage Pizza
- 3/4 cup almond flour
- 1 1/2 mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 tbs Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbs cream cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 TBS olive oil (optional)
- 1 TBS Olive oil (optional)1 TBS Each: Basil, Oregano (optional)Optional: salt and pepper
Combined, all ingredients total to less than $5 for 1 pizza.
Saturday- Leftovers Night
Never underestimate the power of leftovers on your meal plan rotation! They save you money two ways: you don’t have to buy another dinner’s ingredients and if you throw away half your meal, you’re not really saving money.

Sunday- Chicken Quinoa Soup
- 3 celery sticks
- 2 carrot sticks
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 chicken breast $3- OR Less than a dollar if you buy 2 whole chickens from Costco fo $10
- 1/2 table spoon salt
- 1/2 table spoon
- 1 table spoon basil
- 1 table spoon parsley
- 1 table spoon oregano
- 1/2 cup quinoa- One big bag I think was $20? 1/2 cup of quinoa is less than $1
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 2 cup beef broth (fresh or store bought) Store bough: $2
- 2 cup chicken broth Store bough: $2
