A baby friendly banana bread recipe became a new challenge for me when I made banana bread for Fee and myself in August. I have three banana bread recipes on the blog, but we’re not ready to give Fee recipes with added sugar and she can’t have honey. What makes this banana bread recipe baby friendly is that I amended my usual recipe to make it suitable for my (nearly) one year old (at the time of having tried the recipe). Infants cannot have honey until 1 and though I give Ophelia dairy byproducts like Greek yogurt and cottage cheese, I don’t think I have given her baked goods with milk. Therefore, I opted for almond milk. Making this recipe dairy free too! Until you factor in that I cannot resist brushing melted butter when the loaf is fresh out. 🙂
Baby Friendly Banana Bread Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon for the batter, sprinkle more later
- 1 1/4 cup flour of choice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Add the two ripe bananas to your kitchen mixer, and use the paddle attachment to mash the bananas

- Add eggs, oil, almond milk, vanilla, baking soda, salt and cinnamon to your kitchen mixer and turn on medium speed
- Pause the kitchen mixer and add 1/2 to 1/3 cup of flour, mix on medium. Pause and add remaining amount of flour to the mix. Mix on medium until well incorporated.
- Pour your dairy free batter into a bread pan

- Bake for 45 minutes, check with a toothpick to ensure that it is fully cooked.
- Optional brush butter to the loaf (obviously not making it dairy free anymore).
