Recipes to Try Before Making the Amazing Soup Recipes
Sometimes before I make a soup, I like to do what I refer to as “layering” ingredients. It’s my way of adding nutrition to a recipe that doesn’t come from a can or box. One of the ways I do that is by cooking a whole chicken in the crockpot and making bone broth. Soon though, I will be posting a recipe of how to make bone broth in the Instant Pot when you’re in a pinch for time. Be sure to come back to the blog when it’s posted!
My Collection of Amazing Soups and Stews
Keto and Low Carb Soup Recipes
Most of what I write for this blog is centered on recipes that accommodate the low carb diet and affordability. I believe that homemade broths, vegetables and purchasing quinoa in bulk are key factors to balancing budget and diet. Here are 4 recipes that do just that!
The Butternut Squash soup and the Hearty Beef and Vegetable stew recipes are inspired by the Keto cookbook titled The Complete Keto Diet Cookbook For Beginners: 1000 Quick & Easy Recipes For Busy People On The Ketogenic Diet With 21-Day Meal Plan by Lillian Cook (Amazon affiliate link). I received this cookbook in a collaboration with Cooking Hacks Daily on Instagram.
When you review the ingredients lists from the cookbook, be sure to trust the ingredients lists. I was skeptical about the flavoring when the squash soup didn’t include anything like salt and pepper or even broth of any kind, but somehow this vegetable soup was amazing and packed with flavor. Also, don’t underestimate the power of the parsnip!
You cannot go wrong with these amazing and classic soup recipes! From vegetable based to cream based soup, to the best ever crockpot chicken soup….how can you say no to my recipes?
- Crockpot Chicken Soup
- Cream of Broccoli Soup
- Creamy Cauliflower Soup
- Cream of Potato Soup
- Chicken and Dumplings
The Amazing Stews Collection
Stews are considered a soup of sorts- just an ultra-thick version. Our family favorite is my chili- sweet and spicy and tastes great with beef or ground turkey if you want a lighter flavor to it.
- Sweet and Spicy Chili
- Chuckwagon Casserole– bake the cornbread right on top of the chili and you’ve got yourself casserole!
- Jambalaya: Old Fashion & Rustic– authored by my best friend Amelia Gray!
- Best Beef Stew Ever!
Additional Recipes to Go With Your Soups
While you’re enjoying this season of soups and stews, you’ve gotta add affordable bread and roll recipes. Typically these days, buying rolls at stores like Target, Walmart or your local grocery store, can cost close to $5. Sure, it can be roughly 10 cents/oz but why bother when you can make an entire recipe for less than $1?
