Farmhouse Honey Wheat Bread is made from a bread mix from The Prepared Pantry. It's sweet, chewy in the best way, and my husband and I loved it! This recipe is an ammended version of the directions from the bag.
1Farmhouse Honey Wheat Bread Mix from The Prepared Pantry
1 1/2cupsof waterheated to 110 degrees
Yeast packetincluded with the bread mix
Combine warm water (110 degrees) with yeast packet in kitchen mixer bowl
Empty contents of bread mix into your kitchen mixer bowl
Use dough hook to slowly stir contents together until consistent- this happens quickly since all the ingredients are in a bread mix and also prepared for a bread machine. I use the STIR mode on my kitchen mixer. Optional step: empty contents into a mixing bowl before adding it to your kitchen mixer, and use a whisk to break up the mix.
Once everything is mixed, increase speed to 4 or 6 until it becomes a ball. You will likely need to add flour to the mixer bowl. 1/4 cup (or less) at a time to keep the dough from sticking to the sides of the bowl
Knead the dough at 6 for 2 minutes or until the dough becomes elastic and a little bit sticky. You may need to lower the bowl and reposition the dough.
Knead again for 2 minutes
Drop dough onto a floured surface and work into a ball- dough is a little bit sticky and using floured hands helps
Rest for 1 hour in a lightly oiled bowl, covered with a towel
Once bread is risen, form into a pan sized loaf and place in a 5 x 9 bread pan
Pull dough from the center of the pan towards the corners of the pan.
Cover and let rise while oven is preheating to 350 degrees
Bake for 30 minutes or until interior is at least 190 degrees
*or something slightly larger but still rectangular
